May Showers...

Before you were conceived I wanted
you

Before you were born I loved
you

Before you were here an hour I would
die for you

This is the miracle of
love.

~Maureen Hawkins

My Aunt Terry hosted a family baby shower for me at her place in Ballard last weekend. Women from both sides of my family gathered and celebrated me and the coming of Baby Common. It was even more special being over Mother's Day weekend as I felt I got to celebrate a new holiday! It felt like a rite of passage as my aunt incorporated quotes, stories and a reading from my Grandma Audrey that was passed down from her grandmother.

The theme was a tea party and Terry went all out with the lovely tea and appetizers. My sister-in-law, Jennifer, contributed the fun cake shaped like a teapot.

After the shower, I went home and Daniel helped me bring in all the gifts. I really appreciated all of the cute clothes and baby items! Although we have plenty of space, I have a feeling this baby is going to take over fairly quickly! The other first that night was that Daniel got to feel the baby kick! He was pretty amazed...it was the first time he had ever felt a baby kick and it was a fun moment to share.
