Summer in Seattle

Summer is finally here! We've had some patches of sun and a few glorious weekends, but this week felt like the first time it was consistently sunny AND we've had the time to enjoy it. I've also been a little worn out, so a day off to me means a chance to sleep in while Daniel naturally wakes up around 7am work or weekend. So, when this past Saturday rolled around, I decided not to roll over and go back to sleep...but instead got up and we enjoyed a great day being tourists in our own town.

We went to the Seattle Aquarium which has recently been renovated.

At one point, I looked down and was startled...and then I realized I was looking at my own shadow...at 35 weeks pregnant. I looked like something that should have been in the aquarium! (I can say that...everyone else can continue to tell me all pregnant women look cute).

Then we enjoyed a nice lunch on the Seattle waterfront. There is a bird feeding zone by Ivar's which originally freaked me out for the first 20 minutes or so...then I got brave enough to feed the Seagulls...right out of my hand!

A day in Seattle wouldn't be complete without walking through Pike's Place Market. We wandered the market and picked up some fresh, locally made jelly, nuts, soap and print of the market for my sister-in-law's birthday. All in all, a great day spent just the two of us.

It won't be long now. This will seem like the longest 23 days of your life and then all at once you will forget how long it took and how uncomfortable you were -- we're all waiting for that little Common to appear!
